The Cathedral provides support for the following groups especially:
- Brunswick Young People's Project
(based at Brunswick Methodist Church this gives practical help to disadvantaged young people)
- The People's Kitchen
(a drop-in centre for the homeless in Bath Lane which also provides food under the arches in Dean Street and in Old Eldon Square)
- Joseph Cowen Healthcare Centre
(in Byker offering primary healthcare and support to the homeless: gifts of toiletries and second hand clothing can be left in the Cathedral Vestry)
- West End Refugee Service
(providing support, including a clothing store, and advice for refugees and asylum-seekers, based at St Philip's church in Arthur's Hill)
Appeals
From time to time the Mission Committee appeals for help with these and other ventures in particular ways. Other charities are supported financially from Cathedral funds on the recommendation of the Mission Committee.
