The Chapter directs and oversees the affairs of the Cathedral. The Dean chairs the Chapter; all four Residentiary Canons are members.
Lay Members - An Overview
Additionally there are four lay members, two appointed from the Congregation by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and two others appointed by the Bishop. The lay members hold office for terms of three years.
Current Lay Members
Two lay members elected by the Congregation. At present we have one member Mary-Anne Sinclair , a vacancy has arisen and the candidate will be elected at an extraordinary Congregational Meeting to be held in November. Sam Wallis and Jeremy Fitt are bothappointed by the Bishop.
